What People Have to Say About 615 Music
The University of Missouri is the leader in teaching Journalism, and KOMU-TV is the teaching laboratory that showcases our students along with our professional team to give future broadcast journalists the finest real-world experience. When it came to choosing a design team for our HD set, it was easy to see that Devlin Design Group was the best choice. Their designs showed an advanced understanding of broadcast news in general, and how we (KOMU) wanted to take our News product to the next level for the next generation of journalists. [Dan] Devlin made the entire process seem simple, and I felt like a part of the creative process each step of the way.
We also had to choose a design team for a graphics package and music to ‘re-create’ ourselves in the competitive field of local news. Dan Devlin (along with our news consultant) recommended VDO and 615 Music. Even though we chose a syndicated graphics package, I still felt like I had some creative input for the final designs and application of our logo. Dianne Streyer and the creative team from VDO answered every question, and obviously understood where we wanted to go with our branding and new look. I also had the opportunity to collaborate with VDO and DDG to choose colors and materials for the set that incorporated the visual experience of the new graphics.
While music was the last piece of the puzzle for me, picking 615 was the obvious choice. Randy Wachtler knew exactly what we were looking for and introduced me to a music package that was still in production, but was hotter than anything I’d heard from the competition. 615’s sales staff was easy to work with, and KOMU came out with more cuts than we could ever think of using! When I told VDO what package we had picked, they were happy to work with 615 to get the cuts they needed to complete our open animations.
I couldn’t imagine a bigger task than to take on a new HD set, new graphics and branding and a new music package, all in time to launch for May sweeps. But throughout this process, each team helped me understand what needed to be done, and made every task seem simple. The collaboration between Devlin Design Group, VDO and 615 Music made the entire project fluid, workflow was seamless, and overall creative was outstanding! This trio would be my first and only choice!

Scott Sexsmith, our GM, forwarded your email to me regarding our 615 music library. I am quite happy with the library thus far. Every time we get a package with new discs from 615, it's exciting to open it and see what we got. I preview them instantly! I have noticed the format on the newer discs have changed...i.e.: putting the vocal cuts later on the disc. Truthfully, I don't use the vocal cuts...maybe only one time since I've been in this department.
The categories are easy to relate to when searching for the perfect bed for a certain ad. It's an efficient system and makes my job easier...so I can quickly move on to the next project. For a production guy...your production library is a terrific source for inspiration. And you've got lots of inspiration!
Keep up the good work 615 music. It's great having a world class music library at my fingertips.
