Recommended Usage - While each of our external hard drives can be shared across a network, we recommend that you copy the contents of our hard drive to your existing audio/media server and store our original hard drive as a backup.
DVD Updates
All hard drive customers will receive our regular quarterly updates on Data-DVD discs. Upon receipt of the Update DVD, simply copy the files from the DVD to where the 615 Music audio files are stored.
iTunes Import
Many hard drive customers prefer to import our hard drive into iTunes for easy accessibility and integrated searching. Simply follow the instructions below to import our hard drive (or download instructions as PDF).
Note: Our WAV/BWAV files are not currently compatible with iTunes.
- Open iTunes and go to File > Add Folder to Library.
- Browse to where the 615 Music audio files are stored and select the main folder storing all of the 615 Music libraries.
- After hitting OK, iTunes will immediately start importing all of the audio files. Due to the size of our libraries, this may take some time. Please be patient while the audio files are imported.
- Once all files are loaded into your iTunes, go to View > View Options. This will pull up a menu to select the appropriate columns for searching the metadata.
- Select the following columns depending on which audio format you are importing:
- AIFF
- Album
- Artist
- Bit Rate
- Comment
- Composer
- Date Added
- Description
- Genre
- Kind
- Name
- Time
- Sample Rate
- MP3
- Album
- Album Artist
- Artist
- Bit Rate
- Comment
- Composer
- Date Added

- Track Number
